 Stephen Cartwright has worked in the scientific and data intensive computing field for over 12 years in academia and industry. He is currently the technical director for a world-class modeling and simulation research group with many industrial projects. Since 2013, one of his responsibilities is overseeing a visualization centre that uses advanced visualization, analysis and artificial intelligence techniques to deliver cutting edge tools for a variety of disciplines.

    His BSc in computer science has a minor in pure mathematics. His MSc in Computer Science includes an additional Innovation and Entrepreneurship module. He also has formal training and significant experience in project management and management of development teams delivering prototypes that incorporate virtual reality, augmented reality and artificial intelligence.

    Why go from Astrophysics to Economics to Marketing? The answer for David Still is that he likes big ideas, being able to justify them, and getting them in front of lots of people. Most of the big ideas he has now have a lot more to do with creating efficiency around how information travels and marketing through social engagement – but it was probably a good thing that he started with his head in the astrophysics sky.

    David likes good scotch, sailing, and ideas and conversations that have his head hurting afterward. He has a very unique skill set that combines technology, economics, and marketing – and is only just starting to tap its full potential.

Nicole Raivio has been working in various roles in EMS for 10 years, and has been working as an Advanced Care Paramedic in Alberta for three of them. Prior to finishing her ACP program, her university studies included courses in Sociology and Psychology. Currently she works full time in Calgary and Siksika First Nation as an Advanced Care Paramedic.

She works with Hone to help improve the quality of education for her peers in EMS and First Responders alike. She provides valuable insights into the feasibility and practical applications of Hone concepts and products.

Kyle Scott has over 25 years of legal experience. He has worked with numerous large multinational corporations to ensure legal compliance and standards of excellence. Throughout his career as legal counsel, Kyle has worked with multiple technology start-ups, providing strong leadership and sage advice. He has mentored and coached these companies through the scaling phase with numerous successful exits.

As a retired military office, Kyle understands the value of teaching performance under pressure. He’s passionate and engaged with Hone’s mission to save lives.

Ben Ploner holds a Diploma with Distinction in Advanced Care Paramedicine and works as a full time flight paramedic. With over 10 years of field experience, Ben’s adopted area of expertise is Performance Psychology and its application to acute health care, specifically within the practice of Paramedicine. Ben published his first Journal on the topic in November 2017.

For Hone Virtual Education, Ben contributes to the development of performance psychology concepts, and connects the dots between research concepts and practical application. He’s vigilant to ensure the development of Hone platforms is consistent with peer-reviewed and scientifically validated research, and with on-the-ground healthcare practice.
